Threshold Console
The Threshold Console is designed to occupy the in‑between spaces.
With a narrow profile and reduced form, the table functions easily as an entry console, slim end table, or bedside surface. Its presence is intentionally light. Clean lines and clear proportions allow the material and joinery to remain visible without becoming busy.
Each table begins with salvaged hardwood sourced from local removals, trimming, or storm damage. The wood is milled and shaped in the studio, giving overlooked material a second life in a form meant to last. Because the species vary from piece to piece, each table carries its own grain pattern and tonal character.
The structure is straightforward and deliberate. An inset lower shelf is cut directly into the legs, creating a subtle joinery moment without interrupting the overall silhouette. The detail is quiet, but it anchors the form and reinforces the sense of intention throughout the piece.
Two height options allow the table to adapt to different roles—lower for living spaces, taller for entryways or transitional zones. Shown here in cherry with walnut accents, the design accommodates a wide range of hardwood combinations while maintaining its clarity.
The surface is finished with a low‑sheen hard‑wax oil that provides durability and water resistance while preserving the natural feel of the wood. The finish is meant to protect without obscuring, allowing the material to remain legible over time.
Threshold is not meant to draw attention to itself. It is designed to support daily routines quietly—holding what’s needed, marking a space, and then receding into the background.
