I designed this entry table to be a simple, versatile piece that fits effortlessly into almost any space. The narrow profile keeps it light and unobtrusive, while the clean lines highlight the wood and the joinery without feeling busy. It works beautifully as an entry table, a slim end table, or even a nightstand — anywhere you want a functional surface that still feels warm and intentional.
Each table begins its life as salvaged hardwood from local removals, trimming, or storm damage. I mill and shape every board myself here in my Trumbull, CT shop, giving the wood a second life in a piece made to last. Because I work with a mix of local species, every table has its own character and grain pattern.
You can choose between two heights — 27" or 33" — and mix any combination of species you’d like. The versions shown feature cherry tops with walnut accents, as well as walnut-and-cherry blends, but the design works well with just about any hardwood pairing. The inset lower shelf is hand‑cut into the legs, adding a subtle joinery detail without interrupting the minimalist silhouette.
The table is finished with a clear, low‑sheen hard‑wax oil that offers excellent durability and water resistance while keeping the natural feel of the wood.
