I designed this floating shelf to feel like a quiet architectural detail — something functional, sculptural, and easy to bring into any room. The clean lines and warm walnut make it just as fitting in a living room as they are in an office or entryway. Whether you're displaying plants, small artworks, or a few favorite objects, the shelf adds a subtle sense of balance and warmth to the wall.
Each piece is handmade by me in my Trumbull, CT shop using locally rescued walnut. These boards come from trees that were removed during utility work, storm cleanup, or disease — wood that would otherwise be discarded. Giving it a second life in a piece like this is one of my favorite parts of what I do.
The two‑tier design provides plenty of space without feeling bulky, and the shelf mounts easily with the included hardware. If you'd prefer a different wood species or want to adjust the size, I’m always happy to customize it.
